How to configure and play the game

To start playing BOOM just double-click its icon and wait for the game to load.

Once in the title screen you can start configuring the game. When in full screen mode (see "Full Screen Mode"), menus are accessed by simply moving the cursor to the top of the screen.
To open the preferences dialog, click on the word "PREFERENCES" directly on the title screen or select the "Preferences..." item from the Application menu.
In the preferences dialog you can choose between one or two players game, choose whether to start the game in full screen mode or windowed mode, set up the sound and music preferences, configure the controls for player one and two and modify network related settings.

Controls in BOOM are very easy: four keys for the movement and an action key for dropping bombs.
Default keys for player one are the four Arrow Keys and Left Control.
The game also offers basic support for HID compliant USB joysticks and gamepads.

During the game, the following keys and key combinations are active:

ESC: aborts the current game and brings you back to the title screen
Command-P: pauses/unpauses the game
Command-F: toggles full screen mode
Command-Q: quits the game

The aim of the game is to eliminate all the enemies from each level. To do so you have to carefully use your bombs. Bombs are also used to break your way through the playing field, destroying special blocks.
