DESCRIPTION
The Adobe FrameMaker Template Series is a collection of over 150
professionally designed templates. Using the templates, you can create
technical manuals, cookbooks, Web sites, and many other types of
publications entirely in FrameMaker. We've also thrown in over 30 custom
table formats; multi-purpose borders; and special features, such as guide
lines, pre-built fractions, customizable variables, and tables of contents.

This pack contains 11 templates that boldly take Adobe FrameMaker to
places you probably never expected it to go. FrameMaker is justly renowned
for its strengths in formatting long documents, where page after page
displays the same general structure. But these strengths don't translate
well to the mercurial world of ads, newsletters, and Web sites, where each
page presents a unique face to the reader, and sameness quickly builds to
monotony. The templates in this pack tackle these media head on by
enabling you to use FrameMaker to produce the following types of
publications:
-- Design-intensive, single-page documents
-- Multi-page, double-sided newsletters
-- Personal and professional Web sites
-- Classified ads

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Adobe FrameMaker 5.5 or later for Mac OS or Adobe FrameMaker+SGML 5.5 or
later for Mac OS

All the templates work equally in either FrameMaker product. If you're
using FrameMaker+SGML, you can use these templates for unstructured
documents; none of the templates provide element definitions. If you only
have an earlier version of FrameMaker and still want to use one of the
templates, ask a friend to save the template in MIF and then open and
resave the file in the earlier version. (Any 5.5-specific formatting will
be lost in the conversion.)

HANDLING NOTES
After downloading a ".sit.hqx" or ".sit" file on a Macintosh, use StuffIt
Deluxe(R) or StuffIt Expander(R) by Aladdin Systems, Inc. (408-761-6200,
http://www.aladdinsys.com/) to access the file's contents. StuffIt
Expander is available as a freeware product.

INSTALLATION NOTES
The most convenient place to install the template files is in the folder
that contains the standard FrameMaker templates. By placing them in this
location, they will be available in FrameMaker's New dialog box. If you
prefer to place them in a different folder, you may have to navigate to
that folder to find them when you create a new document.

ADDITIONAL NOTES
Most of the templates contain sample text and instructions. These
instructions are helpful when you're using the templates for the first
time. After a while, however, you'll probably want to clear out the sample
text from the templates you use regularly. If you do this, be sure to keep
a copy of the filled-in template in case you need to be reminded of how
it's supposed to look or work.
